Useful Rental and Travel Tips:
- When traveling via commercial transportation such as airline, cruise ship, train or bus; it is important to contact your carrier at least 2 weeks prior to your planned departure. In the case of airline travel we recommend 30 days prior to your flight.
- Be sure you have plenty of battery power and back up for all aspects of the trip. Consider not only the actual travel time to your destination but time getting to your departure point, lay overs, transfers and unexpected delays. Be sure to consider all the same factors for the return trip.
- Know the “travel oxygen policy” of your carrier. (Click Here to view your airlines policy.)
- Have a backup plan. It is your responsibility to ensure you have backup resources throughout your trip. Locate a supplier at or near you destination in case of equipment failure or other emergency events.
- Know your equipment, be sure to receive your rental equipment far enough in advance of your trip that you have time to familiarize your self with it. You may consider using the equipment on a short trip or around town prior to travel
- Be sure to gather all required documentation per your carriers travel policy. Note: All carriers require that you have an up to date physician's order on you at all times.
- Keep your rental company's phone number on you at all times. If traveling with a companion, be sure they have a copy also.
Plan ahead, today's oxygen technology affords users more freedom than ever before. It is important, however, for the user to plan ahead to ensure they have an enjoyable experience while traveling or moving about their community with oxygen.
